Pagination

The pagination plugin can be configured through Blogger Theme Designer.

  1. Go to Blogger Theme Designer.
  2. Click on Advanced tab.
  3. From the dropdown selection list, select Plugin: Pagination.

Blog pagination

Blog pagination allows users to navigate through a list of posts displayed on the homepage, search results, label searches, or blog archives.

There are four types of blog pagination available: Default, Infinite, Numbered, and Auto. By default, it is set to Auto.

The behaviors of these blog pagination types are as follows:

  • Default: Displays three buttons for pagination: Newest, Homepage, and Oldest.
  • Infinite: Displays a single Load more button that, when clicked, appends the next set of posts to the end of the current list on the same page.
  • Numbered: Available only for all posts and label search pages. Displays a series of numbered buttons (e.g., 1, 2, 3, ...), allowing users to jump to specific pages of posts.
  • Auto: Functions like the default to numbered pagination. If it fails to load the numbered pagination, it falls back to the Infinite pagination method.

To switch between blog pagination types, change the length of Blog Pagination Type to 1px, 2px, 3px or 4px for Default, Infinite, Numbered or Auto respectively.

For AMP variant of pages, always Default blog pagination type is used.

The Infinite blog pagination also has three types: Click, Scroll and Click then Scroll. By default, it is set to Click.

The behaviors of these infinite pagination types are as follows:

  • Click: User needs to click on Load more button to load more posts.
  • Scroll: Automatically keeps loading more posts whenever user reaches the end of posts list.
  • Click then Scroll: User needs to click on Load more button for the first time, and next time whenever reaches the end of posts list, automatically loads more posts.

To switch between infinite pagination types, change the length of Infinite Pagination Type to 1px, 2px or 3px for Click, Scroll or Click then Scroll behaviours respectively.

Post pagination

Post pagination is used display the previous and next article links at the end of the article. By default, it is enabled.

Post pagination can be disabled or enabled by setting the length of Post Pagination to 1px or 2px respectively.
